On June 18, Copenhagen will host the inaugural edition of Gaming in the Nordics, a new industry platform designed to connect key stakeholders from the regulated and emerging regulated iGaming markets across Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
The initiative is the latest addition to the portfolio of Gaming in Europe, the organization behind established industry conferences such as Gaming in Holland, Gaming in Germany, and Gaming in Spain. Hosted at Better Collective’s headquarters, the launch event will gather regulators, operators, trade associations, and industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping the Nordic gaming landscape.
A major highlight of the event will be the participation of Anders Dorph, Director of the Danish Gambling Authority, who will serve as the keynote speaker. His presence underscores the event’s commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue between regulators and industry stakeholders at a time when regulatory developments continue to reshape the region.
The speaker lineup also features several prominent industry figures, including Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson; Jesper Søgaard, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Better Collective; Morten Ronde, CEO of the Danish Online Gambling Association (DOGA); Fredrik Stenstrøm, Secretary General of the Norway Association for Online Gaming (NBO); Pekka Ilmivalta, Head of Office at Nordic Legal Finland; Birgitte Sand, CEO of Birgitte Sand & Associates; Josh Hodgson, COO of H2 Gambling Capital; and Peter-Paul de Goeij, Managing Consultant at QuodBonum.se, who will chair the event.
According to Gaming in the Nordics founder Willem van Oort, the event aims to create a valuable forum for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the Nordic region.
“We are delighted that Anders Dorph has agreed to participate in the Gaming in the Nordics launch event. Creating opportunities for constructive dialogue between regulators and the industry is always beneficial. While the Nordic markets are at different stages of regulatory development and market maturity, they share several common challenges and opportunities that make the exchange of experiences and best practices particularly valuable,” he said.
Building Toward an Annual Industry Gathering
The 2026 edition will be held as an exclusive half-day conference with limited attendance capacity. Organizers have already announced plans to expand the initiative into a full-scale annual conference beginning in June 2027, with Copenhagen serving as its permanent host city.
Key sessions from the launch event will be recorded and made available to members of the Gaming in the Nordics community, ensuring broader access to the discussions and insights shared during the gathering.
The organization also confirmed that sponsorship and media partnership opportunities remain available for companies and organizations interested in supporting the growth of this new Nordic industry platform.
