The independent research will examine why professionals stay in the industry, what drives them to leave and how companies can strengthen their approach to talent retention and management.
Evenbeter, formerly known as EvenBet Gaming, and international recruitment agency Headshot have announced the launch of an independent industry study examining the employment landscape across iGaming.
Titled “The State of iGaming Teams 2026–2027: Why People Stay. Why They Leave. What Leaders Can Do Next,” the project aims to provide a broader picture of working conditions across the sector and identify the factors influencing employee retention and mobility.
The organisations point to the growing competition for skilled professionals across iGaming, alongside the increasing cost for companies of losing experienced specialists. At the same time, industry-wide data on employee retention remains limited, making it difficult for employers to assess how their practices compare with broader market trends.
Daria Fot, Human Resources Director at Evenbeter, said: “The goal of the research is to build a full industry picture of team conditions in iGaming and provide companies with practical recommendations for employee retention.”
The research is intended to provide CEOs, founders, HR professionals and team leaders with data that can support decision-making, help benchmark existing practices and highlight areas where organisations can improve. It will also examine the broader impact of losing key specialists and the factors that influence employees when considering a new employer.
The active data collection phase began on 3 September and will run until 1 October 2026, using a combination of online and offline surveys and interviews.
The final report is expected to be published in late November 2026 and will cover several areas, including:
- The project’s framework, methodology and respondent profiles.
- The reasons professionals leave and the factors that support retention.
- The criteria specialists consider when choosing a new employer.
- Management culture and employees’ real workplace experience.
- Burnout and workload-related challenges.
- The gap between what companies consider important and what employees actually value.
- Changing expectations among iGaming professionals for 2026–2027.
- Practical conclusions and recommendations for employers.
Polina Kapitonova, CEO at Headshot, said: “Market-wide averages offer little value to individual companies. We will break down the results by factors such as professional experience, function, and location, and show why people stay or leave in each context.”
The survey is open to iGaming professionals across different levels of seniority, from specialists and team leads to CEOs. Participants can contribute through the survey launched by the organisers.
A prize draw with a range of rewards will also be held among survey participants.
The project is expected to provide a more detailed view of the sector’s evolving employment landscape, while helping companies better understand what professionals expect from their workplaces and what influences their decision to stay or move on.
