SBC has announced a new strategic partnership with the Instituto Brasileiro de Jogo Responsável ahead of the SBC Summit Rio, aligning the event with one of the leading voices shaping responsible gaming standards in Brazil.
The summit will take place from March 3–5, 2026 at Riocentro in Rio de Janeiro, bringing together thousands of delegates, including operators, suppliers and regulators, to explore the future of Brazil’s newly regulated market.
Founded in 2023 following Brazil’s move to regulate the iGaming and sports betting sector, the IBJR represents some of the country’s leading betting companies and is committed to building a fair, sustainable and responsible betting ecosystem. A core part of its mission is combating the illegal market while promoting strong player protection and regulatory compliance standards.
Its membership includes prominent international and Brazilian brands such as bet365, BetMGM, Betsson Group, Entain through Sportingbet, Flutter Brazil with Betnacional and Betfair, Kaizen Gaming with Betano, and KTO, among other key industry players.
Andre Gelfi, Director, Board Member and Co-Founder of IBJR, described the partnership as an important step for the regulated market, emphasizing that the collaboration strengthens institutional efforts to promote a more robust, sustainable and responsible sports betting and online gaming ecosystem. He also highlighted that partnering with SBC expands dialogue with key stakeholders, public authorities and society at large.
Lucía Mouriño, VP Relationships LatAm at SBC, stated that the partnership ensures SBC Summit Rio is aligned with one of the organisations most actively shaping Brazil’s regulated betting landscape. As the market matures, she noted, it is essential that sustainability, compliance and integrity remain at the forefront of industry discussions, underscoring IBJR’s crucial role in combating illegal operations and upholding strong player protection standards.
Across three days, SBC Summit Rio will unite Brazil’s betting and gaming industry for networking, education and business development. More than 150 leading speakers will deliver insights across dedicated conference tracks covering leadership, technological innovation and marketing, alongside specialist gatherings such as the Affiliate Leaders Summit and the Payment Expert Summit focused on Brazil’s affiliate and payments ecosystems.
The exhibition floor will feature companies specialising in responsible gaming, player protection and compliance, providing practical insight into the foundations of Brazil’s regulated market. By bringing together operators and key industry stakeholders, the event serves as a central platform for strengthening a sustainable and player-focused ecosystem.
With this strategic alliance, SBC reinforces its commitment to fostering meaningful industry dialogue and supporting the development of a transparent, responsible and sustainable Brazilian market.
