SBC Summit’s Global Regulations Track to Examine the Industry’s Most Significant Regulatory Developments

As gambling markets around the world continue to face major regulatory reviews, market openings, and political debates, SBC Summit 2026 will feature a dedicated conference track focused on the key regulatory developments shaping the future of the global gaming industry.

The Global Regulations Track, scheduled for 29 September, will bring together operators, regulators, policymakers, legal experts, and compliance professionals to discuss the latest legislative changes and emerging regulatory trends across both established and developing gaming jurisdictions.

The track will be hosted as part of the Regulation & Compliance Stage, one of six dedicated conference stages featured at SBC Summit, alongside technology, global and emerging markets, the Payment Expert Summit, product innovation showcases, and the Super Stage at Lisbon’s iconic MEO Arena.

According to Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, understanding the increasingly complex regulatory landscape has become essential for industry stakeholders worldwide.

“Every market operates under its own unique set of rules, challenges, and opportunities. That is what makes this industry so fascinating and dynamic, but it also makes navigating the global regulatory landscape increasingly complex,” said Sojmark.

“With delegates joining us from every major gaming jurisdiction, SBC Summit provides a unique platform for meaningful regulatory dialogue. Attendees will not only hear from experts who understand these markets, but they will also engage with the policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders actively shaping their future.”

Among the headline discussions is “Can Poland’s Economic Surge Unlock Gambling Reform?”, a session that will explore whether Poland’s economic growth and increasing industry pressure could drive meaningful regulatory reform in the country. The panel will bring together regulatory, legal, and operator representatives to examine issues such as market restrictions, illegal gambling activity, and the prospects for legislative change.

Attention will then shift to Northern Europe with “Finland’s Waiting: The Start of a New European Market,” where industry experts will discuss the challenges and opportunities emerging from Finland’s transition toward a new licensing framework and the role regulators are playing in the process.

Canada’s evolving regulatory environment will also be under the spotlight during “Canada: Province by Province Progress,” a session examining how ongoing reviews in Alberta and Ontario could influence the future development of the Canadian gaming market.

Beyond these discussions, attendees can expect in-depth analysis of regulatory developments in Romania, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Curaçao, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as broader regional sessions covering Latin America, Africa, Asia, Eurasia, and the Balkans.

A recurring theme throughout the conference will be the impact of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on betting regulation and sports integrity, with experts assessing how increased betting activity during the tournament has prompted greater regulatory scrutiny and enhanced monitoring efforts across multiple jurisdictions.

New for 2026, SBC Summit will also introduce Regulatory Meet-ups, a dedicated networking initiative organized in partnership with the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) and the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL). These sessions will provide delegates with direct access to regulators, legal specialists, and industry leaders, creating valuable opportunities for discussion and collaboration beyond the conference stage.

Taking place from 29 September to 1 October 2026, SBC Summit is expected to welcome more than 40,000 industry professionals to the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena for three days of networking, exhibitions, and educational content.

Access to the conference programme is included with Conference, Business, and VIP passes, while participation in the Regulatory Meet-ups will require either a Business or VIP pass.
