BGaming has expanded its creative portfolio with the launch of Yokai, the debut title in its new ART Collab series, a project designed to bring the work of internationally renowned street artists into the world of iGaming.
The new release was developed in partnership with Gonçalo MAR, one of Portugal’s most influential street artists, marking the third collaboration between the two and their first to evolve into a fully developed slot game.
ART Collab is an ongoing collection in which BGaming partners with artists from around the world to transform their unique visual styles and creative visions into immersive gaming experiences. For Yokai, the inspiration began when the studio first encountered Gonçalo MAR’s artwork at an exhibition in Lisbon. Since then, the collaboration has expanded through several creative projects, including BGaming’s recent charity gala in support of DAR Bjorn, where one of MAR’s artworks was auctioned.
In Yokai, the reels become a digital canvas showcasing Gonçalo MAR’s artistic identity. The game’s storyline, visual design, and artwork were conceived by the artist and brought to life in collaboration with BGaming’s creative team. Among the highlights is “Turista,” one of MAR’s signature finger-fish creations, which inspired the game’s concept and appears both as a symbol on the reels and as the head of the main character.
The slot transports players to an ancient Japanese forest beneath Mount Fuji, where a mysterious Samurai protects the Yokai, mystical spirits believed to bring good fortune. Throughout the game, the Samurai springs into action to slice the reels and trigger the bonus feature, while the Yokai spirits continuously appear and disappear across the screen, creating a dynamic atmosphere that is particularly suited to live-streaming sessions.
From a gameplay perspective, Yokai features two types of Wild symbols, cumulative multipliers, and a Free Spins bonus round that awards a random number of spins each time it is triggered. The slot offers a maximum win potential of 8,000x the stake and a 97% RTP.
Like many other BGaming releases, the title also includes two bonus purchase options. Buy Chance increases the probability of triggering the bonus feature at a slightly higher stake, while Buy Bonus provides immediate access to the Free Spins round.
