Regulators from the United States, Guinea and Denmark were recognised for achievements in enforcement, regulatory innovation and responsible gambling initiatives.
The International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR) has announced the winners of its 2026 International Regulatory Awards, recognising outstanding achievements in gaming regulation across three categories.
The Florida Gaming Control Commission (United States), Guinea’s Authority for the Regulation of Gaming, Betting and Related Activities (ARSJPA), and the Danish Gambling Authority received the awards during the IAGR 2026 Annual Conference, held in Lima, Peru, from October 19–22.
The annual awards recognise regulatory initiatives that demonstrate excellence, innovation and measurable results in strengthening gaming oversight, protecting consumers and advancing effective regulation.
“These awards recognise the dedication, leadership, and creativity IAGR member organisations are applying to address increasingly complex challenges. This year’s winners have taken decisive steps to combat illegal gambling, modernise oversight and protect consumers, illustrating how regulatory leadership can deliver meaningful results. Their achievements offer valuable lessons for regulators worldwide. We appreciate all those who participated in this process and look forward to expanding our awards in the year ahead,” said Brian Krolicki, IAGR President.
2026 International Regulatory Award Winners
Regulatory Excellence: Florida Gaming Control Commission (United States)
The Florida Gaming Control Commission was recognised for its significant enforcement achievements in combating illegal gambling and strengthening regulatory oversight.
Since its establishment in 2022, the Commission has seized nearly 11,000 illegal slot machines and US$23 million in illegal gambling proceeds. It has also expanded partnerships with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
These coordinated enforcement efforts have strengthened Florida’s ability to identify and shut down illegal gambling operations.
Regulatory Innovation: Authority for the Regulation of Gaming, Betting and Related Activities (ARSJPA), Guinea
Guinea’s ARSJPA was recognised for transforming gambling oversight through an innovative, centralised real-time monitoring platform developed in partnership with Sharp Vision.
The technology provides regulators with direct access to verifiable data on licensed betting activity, replacing operator self-reporting systems.
The implementation of this platform contributed to a 73% increase in assessed tax liability between 2024 and 2025. It has also supported efforts to combat illegal gambling, including the closure of more than 500 illegal gambling websites.
Best Responsible/Safer Gambling Initiative or Communications Campaign: Danish Gambling Authority (Denmark)
The Danish Gambling Authority was recognised for its innovative StopSpillet awareness campaign, designed to reduce the stigma surrounding gambling-related harm and encourage individuals to seek help earlier.
Targeting men aged 30–40, the campaign shifted traditional messaging away from focusing solely on the individual gambler and instead highlighted the impact gambling can have on family relationships.
Through emotionally compelling storytelling and targeted digital outreach, the initiative introduced a new approach to reaching audiences who might otherwise be reluctant to seek support.
Recognising Regulatory Excellence Across Borders
The International Regulatory Awards form an important part of IAGR’s commitment to advancing regulatory excellence and encouraging collaboration among gaming regulators worldwide.
“Some of the most valuable improvements in gaming regulation come from sharing what works in our member jurisdictions. These three initiatives address different challenges, but each demonstrates the value of innovation, decisive action, and creative communication in producing measurable results. By recognising these achievements, we hope to encourage regulators around the world to build on these successes, increase collaboration and continue finding new ways to protect the public, empower consumers, and make regulation more efficient and effective,” said Kevin Mullally, IAGR Chief Executive Officer.
The awards were presented during IAGR’s Annual Conference in Lima, which brought together regulators, policymakers and industry stakeholders from around the world under the theme “Steady hands, shifting ground: Advancing regulation in a connected world.”
