EGBA Invites Organisations to Plan Activities for European Safer Gambling Week 2025

With the upcoming edition of European Safer Gambling Week set to take place from 17 to 23 November 2025, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) is calling on all industry stakeholders to begin preparing events and initiatives aimed at promoting safer gambling practices across Europe.

This annual initiative seeks to raise awareness of safer gambling, share key information about support services, and encourage cross-sector collaboration to improve player protection.

Last year’s edition achieved record engagement, with 195 participating organisations across 26 countries, 3.1 million social media users reached, and 20 events hosted across Europe, bringing together over 3,000 attendees to discuss the latest trends in safer gambling.

“We’re excited to build on the strong momentum from last year. This week has become Europe’s leading platform for raising awareness about safer gambling. We encourage organisations to start planning their events and initiatives now,” said Maarten Haijer, Secretary General of EGBA.

Now in its fifth edition, European Safer Gambling Week 2025 will once again feature a player-facing social media campaign sharing vital safety messages in local languages, along with a range of workshops to showcase best practices and promote dialogue on current developments in regulation and research.

EGBA invites a wide range of stakeholders — including operators, trade associations, harm-prevention bodies, national authorities, tech providers, support organisations, and experts-by-experience — to contribute through activities such as:

  • Organising webinars, workshops, or panel discussions.
  • Launching new safer gambling initiatives.
  • Contributing to the digital awareness campaign.
  • Hosting training sessions for staff or customers.
  • Publishing research, surveys, or insights on safer gambling.
  • Partnering with support organisations to promote help services.

Interested stakeholders are encouraged to contact EGBA for more information and to register any planned activities. To facilitate coordination and avoid scheduling overlaps, EGBA recommends registering events as early as possible.

Branding materials, including logos and social media graphics in multiple languages, will be available upon request from September 2025 to support all planned initiatives.
