Partnership reinforces Starcasino’s promise to protect sports and customers from betting-related corruption
Starcasino has joined the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) following the recent launch of its sportsbook in the Netherlands, operated through Altenar, which is also an IBIA member. With operations already established in Belgium and Spain, Starcasino now becomes part of a network that includes more than 80 companies and 140 sports betting brands, all feeding into IBIA’s world-leading integrity monitoring system that oversees over $300 billion in sports bets annually. Starcasino’s membership reinforces IBIA’s role as the leading integrity monitor for sports betting in the Netherlands, where the association currently represents around 90% of all licensed operators.
Kylian Olierook, Director of Starcasino Netherlands, stated:
“Starcasino.nl is joining the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA) as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting fair and transparent sports betting. Alongside its sportsbook partner Altenar, the company aims to help protect sports from manipulation and ensure a safe experience for its players. By collaborating with IBIA, Starcasino takes an active role in monitoring and reporting suspicious betting behavior.”
Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, added:
“We are pleased to welcome Starcasino to our association. Their addition strengthens our global monitoring network and reinforces our joint commitment to protecting the integrity of sport and regulated betting markets. Starcasino’s IBIA membership demonstrates its dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity and transparency in the regulated betting sector. We look forward to working closely with Starcasino to safeguard the integrity of its services and markets.”
IBIA is a non-profit organization, free of conflicts of interest with commercial service provision, and was created by operators for operators to safeguard regulated sports betting markets against match-fixing. Its global monitoring network is a highly effective anti-corruption tool, detecting and reporting suspicious activity in regulated markets. Through this network, transactional data linked to individual customer accounts can be tracked—information accessible only to IBIA and its members.
IBIA’s Q1 report revealed 63 suspicious betting alerts that were shared with the relevant authorities. Alerts from IBIA contributed to investigations and successful sanctions against 17 clubs, players, and officials during 2024.
