Appointment of Yuri Guerra as the New Director of Games and Slot Machines in Peru

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) of Peru announced the appointment of Mr. Yuri Guerra Padilla as the new Director of the General Directorate of Games and Slot Machines of the country, through Directorial Resolution 058-2024-MINCETUR/SG/OGA issued on February 17.
Mr. Guerra, an electronic engineer with a distinguished career in the public sector and a solid background in public management and new information technologies, assumes this position with the commitment to promote a regulated and transparent environment in the gaming industry in Peru.
This announcement comes after the conclusion of the designation of Mr. Eduardo Sevilla as Director of the General Directorate of Games and Slot Machines, through Ministerial Resolution No. 044 – 2024 issued on February 16. Mr. Sevilla, who has held various positions in the government, is considered one of the last surviving officials of the regime of former President Pedro Castillo.
Despite his experience in public service, Mr. Sevilla has been the subject of controversy due to investigations against him for alleged irregularities during his tenure as head of Immigration. It is important to note that these are allegations that have not yet been proven in court and that all individuals are innocent until proven guilty.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, in its commitment to transparency and integrity, has decided to appoint Mr. Guerra to lead the General Directorate of Games and Slot Machines, trusting in his ability to promote a responsible and safe gaming industry for all citizens.
