SBC Summit to Examine Latin America’s Biggest Growth Opportunities

Latin America remains one of the gaming industry’s most compelling growth stories. However, rising taxes, evolving regulatory frameworks, and increasing competition are forcing operators to reassess where and how they invest. Against this backdrop, SBC Summit will dedicate a focused conference track to exploring the region’s most promising opportunities.

Taking place on 1 October 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, the track will bring together senior executives from across Latin America to discuss the opportunities and challenges shaping key markets including Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador and Chile.

The track forms part of SBC Summit’s Global & Emerging Markets Stage, which will examine major developments, opportunities, and challenges across Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Latin America.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC, highlighted the importance of viewing Latin America as a collection of unique markets rather than a single region.

“People often speak about Latin America as if it were one market, but every country is on its own journey, with its own opportunities, challenges, and pace of development. That distinction is important and is one of the main reasons why we created this dedicated track. It allows stakeholders to hear directly from the people who understand these markets best.”

The programme will open with “LatAm Leaders: Strategy, Scale and Survival”, where leading industry executives will discuss which markets continue to justify investment, where the strongest growth opportunities exist, and how operators are balancing expansion plans against rising costs and regulatory changes.

The panel will feature Juana Bischoff, Head of LATAM at Oddin.gg; Zeno Ossko, CEO of BetWarrior; Anton Rublievskyi, CEO & Partner at GROWE; and Julio Cesar Tamayo, CEO of WPlay.

Attention will then turn to Brazil with “Brazil Unfiltered: What Leaders Actually Think”, bringing together some of the country’s most influential gaming executives to discuss the future of the market as it approaches its third year under regulation.

The session will examine the impact of taxation, rising customer acquisition costs, and whether long-term, localisation-focused strategies are beginning to deliver sustainable returns.

Speakers include Hugo Baungartner, Chief Business Officer at Esportes Gaming Brasil; João Gerçossimo, CEO of EstrelaBet; Jordi Sendra, CEO of Alea; and Thomas Carvalhaes, Founding Member and Council Member of ABRAJOGO.

One of the track’s key highlights will be “Peru’s Big Shift: Compliance Tightening, Growth Exploding”, which will focus on Peru’s remarkable development as one of Latin America’s fastest-growing regulated gaming markets.

Despite increasing taxation, stricter compliance requirements, and higher operational costs, Peru’s online GGR is projected to reach between $1.1 billion and $1.3 billion. Industry leaders will discuss whether the country can maintain this momentum while adapting to increasingly demanding regulatory standards.

The session will feature Gonzalo Pérez, CEO of Apuesta Total, and Gonzalo Rosell, CEO of La Tinka.

The agenda will also include “Mexico Reloaded: The Market on the Edge of a Major Reset”, exploring how potential regulatory reforms could reshape one of Latin America’s largest gaming markets, and the closing session “LatAm’s Next Moves: Certainty, Chaos and Quiet Winners”, which will examine emerging opportunities across Chile, Paraguay, and Ecuador.

SBC Summit will take place from 29 September to 1 October 2026 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena, welcoming more than 40,000 industry professionals for three days of networking, exhibitions, and educational content.

In addition to the Global & Emerging Markets Stage, attendees will have access to dedicated conference tracks covering regulation, technology, payments, product innovation, and other key areas driving the future of the global gaming industry.
