Sportradar’s AI Predicts a France vs. Spain Final: Winner Too Close to Call

Kylian Mbappé and Harry Kane lead the race for the Golden Boot

A series of AI-driven simulations conducted by Sportradar has concluded that the winner of this summer’s major international football tournament is “too close to call,” with France and Spain emerging as the leading contenders to lift the trophy.

Sportradar’s AI probability model ran 100,000 comprehensive simulations for each of the tournament’s 104 matches. The results revealed an extremely narrow margin between the two European powerhouses, with both France and Spain emerging victorious in approximately 16,000 simulations each, giving both nations a 16% probability of success.

Highlighting the projected dominance of the two sides, Sportradar’s AI algorithms identified France vs. Spain as the most likely final pairing of the tournament. Out of the 100,000 simulations conducted, this matchup occurred in nearly 7,000 scenarios, while a Brazil vs. Spain final appeared in around 5,000 instances.

Using betting insights gathered from its global network of more than 800 sportsbook operators, Sportradar fed hundreds of thousands of data points into its AI-powered system. This enabled the company to perform an in-depth analysis of historical performance and project future outcomes based on the tournament’s 2026 format and regulations.

In the race for the Golden Boot, Kylian Mbappé was identified as the leading favorite to finish as the tournament’s top scorer. Across more than 13,000 simulations, the French forward emerged as the highest goal scorer.

Close behind him was Harry Kane, who was selected as the top scorer in approximately 12,000 simulations.

The AI projections also indicated that eight goals are likely to be required to secure the Golden Boot during this expanded edition of the tournament. Among the 100,000 simulated outcomes, scoring eight goals was the most frequent result, appearing in more than 26,000 instances, while seven goals occurred in approximately 22,000 simulations.

The company noted that the information provided represents probabilistic projections of potential outcomes and does not constitute a guarantee of future results. As such, it should not be relied upon for sports betting or wagering purposes.
