Gaming in Finland will host a webinar titled “How Finland is different” on Thursday, March 5 at 14:00 CET / 15:00 EET, offering key insights for operators and suppliers considering entry into Finland’s upcoming regulated iGaming market.
Starting March 1, 2027, Finland’s gambling regulator will begin processing online gambling license applications, ahead of the official market opening on July 1, 2027. The secondary legislation and technical requirements necessary to properly submit an application are expected to be published imminently.
While the exact details are not yet available, it is already clear that Finland’s regulatory framework will differ significantly from other Nordic markets such as Sweden and Denmark. These differences are likely to have important implications for market entry strategies and technical compliance structures.
Willem van Oort, Founder of Gaming in Finland, commented:
“If you are considering entering the Finnish iGaming market, this webinar comes at a most opportune time: one or perhaps two weeks after the publication of the secondary legislation that is necessary to submit your license application. Naturally, we are particularly grateful to our local partners for helping us make sense of the license application process and the associated technical requirements.”
