The Payment Expert Summit returns to SBC Summit Rio at a pivotal moment for Brazil’s payments ecosystem. With PIX firmly established as the country’s dominant payment method and regulators tightening requirements around AML, KYC, and onboarding, the summit will provide a dedicated platform for payment and compliance professionals to refine their infrastructures and adapt to a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Taking place from 3–5 March at Riocentro, the summit will feature its own dedicated show floor alongside a focused educational programme designed for operators, PSPs, banks, fintechs, KYC and AML specialists, and compliance leaders seeking to strengthen their payment operations in Brazil’s regulated market.
Commenting on the event, Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, highlighted the shift in industry priorities:
“Following the launch of last year’s Payment Expert Summit, we’ve seen Brazil’s payment landscape evolve quickly. In its first year, the focus was on understanding regulation. Today, operators are looking for practical guidance on how to adapt, strengthen their systems, and keep pace with the market’s growth.”
He added that with payment rules continuing to evolve and PIX dominating transactions across Brazil, the summit creates a clear space for operators and payment and compliance professionals to connect and understand how these changes impact their payment offerings.
The Payment Expert Summit show floor will bring together Brazil’s leading payment, compliance, and fraud prevention suppliers, giving operators direct access to technologies that enable faster payouts, stronger verification, and frictionless onboarding. Confirmed exhibitors include Belvo, EfiBank, Fiserv, Legitimuz, OneKey Payments, Paag, SEON, Sumsub, PayRetailers, Trio Payments, and Unico, among others.
Designed as a hands-on environment, the summit will allow attendees to compare solutions, strengthen their payment stacks, and refine player journeys, while dedicated networking zones, lounge areas, and access to the Food Festival will support meaningful connections and long-term partnerships.
On the conference side, the educational programme will address Brazil’s most pressing payment and compliance challenges. Sessions will explore seamless PIX integration, stricter AML and KYC compliance, enhanced fraud detection, streamlined onboarding, and building payment infrastructures that balance regulatory demands with a smooth user experience.
The programme will open with a high-level session led by Brazil’s Financial Intelligence Unit (COAF), featuring Ricardo Saadi, Director of Investigation and Combating Organised Crime at the Brazilian Federal Police and President of COAF, who will outline the key AML and financial intelligence requirements under Brazil’s regulated framework.
Additional panels include “PIX in Focus: A Guide to Compliance and UX,” “Market Entry Playbook: Building Local Partnerships & Alliances,” “Cracking Down on Money Laundering,” and “Behind the Firewall: Where Open Banking Meets Protection,” featuring industry leaders from payments, compliance, and financial services.
The Payment Expert Summit forms part of the wider SBC Summit Rio agenda and is one of five dedicated tracks, alongside Leadership, Affiliation, Tech Innovation, and Marketing.
SBC Summit Rio 2026 will take place from 3–5 March at Riocentro, Rio de Janeiro.
