Yolo Group Joins IBIA to Bolster Integrity Measures Ahead of Brazilian Market Launch

February 13, 2024

Yolo Group proudly announces its membership in the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), fortifying its commitment to integrity in sports betting. Established in 2014, Yolo Group operates globally with offices in Estonia, Malta, Brazil, Australia, and Guernsey. With the inclusion of its Sportsbet.io brand in IBIA’s network, Yolo Group aligns itself with over 50 companies and 125 leading sports betting brands within the association, solidifying IBIA’s status as the foremost operator-driven integrity monitoring body worldwide.

This strategic move precedes the imminent launch of the Brazilian sports betting market, where operators are mandated to engage with an integrity monitoring body as a licensing condition. Notably, several Brazil-focused operators joined IBIA in 2023. According to H2 Gambling Capital, IBIA members already represent over 60% of remote gambling in Brazil, uniquely positioning IBIA to safeguard the integrity of this burgeoning market.

Matthew D’Emanuele, CEO of Yolo Entertainment at Yolo Group, emphasized the company’s unwavering dedication to betting integrity: “We take our betting integrity incredibly seriously at Yolo Group, and that’s why joining the IBIA is such an important step for us. Our industry relies upon safeguarding sporting competition, and we’ll be working closely with the IBIA to provide all the support we can to help provide a fun, fast, and fair environment for sports betting.”

Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA, expressed his delight in welcoming Yolo Group to the association: “Yolo Group’s decision to join IBIA demonstrates the company’s desire to utilize the best integrity protection available globally for its sports betting product and further expands IBIA’s leading integrity monitoring network. The association looks forward to working closely with the operator to protect it from corrupt betting activity both on a global stage and in relation to specific markets such as Brazil.”

IBIA, a not-for-profit body, operates with no competing conflicts and is solely dedicated to safeguarding regulated sports betting markets from match-fixing. The association’s global monitoring network is a potent anti-corruption tool, detecting and reporting suspicious activity in regulated betting markets. Through the IBIA monitoring network, transactional activities linked to individual customer accounts can be tracked, ensuring the integrity of sports betting ecosystems.

The recently released 2023 annual integrity report by IBIA revealed a notable decrease in alerts reported compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, IBIA’s vigilance led to successful investigations and subsequent sanctioning of individuals and entities involved in corrupt activities.
