The annual conference of the International Association of Gaming Regulators will take place from October 19 to 22 at the JW Marriott Lima, with Peru serving as host country and a programme focused on the new challenges facing regulation in an increasingly connected market.
Lima is preparing to become a meeting point for the international gaming regulatory community. From October 19 to 22, 2026, the Peruvian capital will host IAGR2026, the annual conference of the International Association of Gaming Regulators (IAGR), bringing together regulators, government authorities, compliance specialists, regulatory advisers and industry representatives from different jurisdictions.
The event will be held with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) at the JW Marriott Lima in Miraflores. Under the theme “Steady hands, shifting ground: Advancing regulation in a connected world,” the agenda will address key challenges currently shaping gaming regulation worldwide.
Why was Lima chosen as the host city for IAGR2026?
Lima’s selection also holds particular significance for IAGR. The organisation is returning to the Peruvian capital 11 years after its previous conference in the country, held in 2015.
When announcing its return, IAGR highlighted Peru and South America as gaming markets undergoing significant development, with increasing attention being placed on responsible regulatory frameworks. For the association, returning to the region represents an opportunity to strengthen knowledge-sharing and collaboration among regulators.
From Peru’s perspective, hosting the conference will also provide an opportunity to showcase the evolution of the country’s regulatory framework. Yuri Guerra Padilla, Director General of Casino Games and Slot Machines at MINCETUR, highlighted that hosting the event represents an opportunity to demonstrate the country’s regulatory progress and promote the exchange of experiences around consumer protection, market integrity, and the sustainable development of the sector.
IAGR2026’s programme will feature many regional issues, including an opening day “Host-Country Keynote: The Peruvian Regulatory Perspective,” dedicated to the evolution of Peru’s regulatory agenda and the growing relevance of Latin America within the global gaming market.
Four days focused on the future of regulation
Over four days, IAGR2026 will examine a range of challenges transforming the way gaming markets are regulated and supervised.
Topics on the agenda include the impact of artificial intelligence, the growth of illegal markets, prediction markets and event contracts, payment systems, anti-money laundering measures and the development of technology-based tools for regulatory supervision.
The programme will also introduce an Emerging Technology Showcase, providing an opportunity for hands-on experience with new technologies and tools designed to strengthen compliance, enhance regulatory oversight and modernise regulatory processes.
The agenda covers several topics that highlight the need for regulatory frameworks to evolve alongside technology, digital products, payment systems, and new forms of entertainment and betting.
