The two-day event brought together representatives from across the iGaming ecosystem to discuss regulation, risk, technology, prediction markets, and the evolution of the omnichannel model in Peru and Latin America.
Lima hosted the first edition of LiGA Summit 2026, an event organized by Eventus International that brought together representatives from different areas of the iGaming industry over two days to discuss the evolution of the Peruvian market and the key trends shaping the sector across Latin America.
Following the event, Margarita Cruz, Americas Ambassador at Eventus International and host of LiGA Summit 2026, spoke with Digital Gaming News about the reasons behind choosing Peru as the location for the inaugural edition, as well as the topics covered during the event and plans for its continuation.
Peru as a Meeting Point for the iGaming Industry
During the interview, Cruz explained that Lima was selected primarily because of the development of the Peruvian market and its regulatory framework.
“Peru is a very strategic market in Latin America,” said Margarita Cruz, highlighting that the country has more than two years of regulatory experience and that the market has reached a level of development and stability that makes it a relevant reference point within the region.
The Eventus International representative also noted that, while there are still areas that can be further improved, Peru’s experience can provide valuable insights for other Latin American markets that are developing or strengthening their own regulatory frameworks.
Against this backdrop, LiGA Summit aimed to draw on Peru’s experience to create a space for knowledge exchange among operators, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders across the iGaming ecosystem.
An Agenda Covering Different Areas of the Ecosystem
One of the main objectives of the inaugural edition was to develop a broad agenda covering different aspects of the industry throughout the two-day event.
According to Cruz, the topics selected included risk management, prediction markets, technology, online operations, land-based casinos, and the evolution of the omnichannel model.
The integration of online and land-based channels was one of the key areas discussed, particularly as companies operating across both segments look for new opportunities to expand their businesses.
“There is already a demand to expand from land-based casinos into online through an omnichannel approach,” Cruz explained, noting that this integration process is already gaining momentum in Peru and other Latin American markets.
The agenda also brought together professionals with experience across different areas of the industry, including product, commercial operations, and regulation, with the aim of bringing their expertise into the discussions held throughout the summit.
LiGA Summit Announces Second Edition
One of the main announcements from Margarita Cruz was the continuation of LiGA Summit.
The Eventus International representative confirmed that a second edition of the event will take place, although the date has not yet been finalized. The organization is currently considering whether to hold the event again in September or move it to June.
“There will definitely be a second edition. This is simply the first one,” Cruz stated.
According to her, the organization has identified a growing demand for more focused industry gatherings centered on networking, business development, and education within a sector that continues to evolve rapidly.
The final date for the next edition will be announced by Eventus International in the coming weeks.
Webinars to Keep the Conversation Going Throughout the Year
In addition to confirming the continuation of the summit, Cruz revealed that Eventus International plans to host LiGA Summit webinars over the coming months.
These online sessions will aim to further explore the Peruvian and Latin American markets while keeping the community that participated in the inaugural edition connected throughout the year.
The organization also plans to expand the participation of suppliers and industry organizations in future activities, with the goal of strengthening knowledge sharing and networking opportunities as key elements of the LiGA Summit proposition.
With the conclusion of its first edition in Lima, LiGA Summit 2026 has established the foundations for the continuation of a platform focused on the evolution of iGaming in Peru and Latin America, while Eventus International moves forward with plans for the next edition and its upcoming virtual activities.
