Atlantic City Casino Drives Sportsbook Growth in Peru with Altenar

The evolution of its online offering and the adoption of specialised sportsbook technology have supported the operator’s growth, with sportsbook turnover increasing 43% year-on-year during the first half of 2026.

Since its establishment in 1996, Atlantic City Casino has built a longstanding presence in Peru’s gaming market. Its flagship casino in Lima has become a recognised destination for VIP players, while changing player expectations created an opportunity for the operator to strengthen its digital offering.

The challenge was clear: bringing the quality and exclusivity associated with the Atlantic City brand into the online environment. Within that process, the sportsbook represented an opportunity to create a digital experience that was more closely aligned with the standards already established across its retail operation.

The partnership with Altenar began in September 2020, after Atlantic City selected the company’s sportsbook platform for its technology capabilities and flexibility. The goal was to build a betting experience that reflected the brand’s positioning while providing the scalability required to support future growth.

A Platform Built to Support Growth

Altenar’s solution enabled Atlantic City to strengthen several areas of its sportsbook operation, from the player experience to day-to-day management.

Key elements included:

  • A sportsbook experience aligned with Atlantic City’s premium positioning.
  • A broad portfolio of sports and betting markets.
  • Advanced back-office tools to improve operational efficiency.
  • A seamless experience across desktop and mobile devices.
  • A scalable infrastructure designed to support continued growth.

The business results reflect this evolution. Comparing 2025 with 2023, Atlantic City recorded an 18% increase in turnover and a 59% rise in Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR).

Growth continued into 2026. During the first half of the year, sportsbook turnover increased by 43% year-on-year compared with the same period in 2025, pointing to sustained betting activity and continued momentum.

Football Remains the Main Betting Driver

Football continues to account for the largest share of sportsbook activity. During the first half of 2026, it represented 69.21% of turnover, followed by tennis at 12.41% and basketball at 10.29%.

The distribution highlights player interest across a combination of international competitions and regional and domestic sporting events. For an operator expanding its digital presence in Peru, broad market coverage combined with an experience tailored to local player preferences can play an important role.

Atlantic City’s development illustrates how sportsbook technology can form part of a broader digital strategy, connecting the online betting experience with the identity the operator has built over decades.

For Atlantic City, adopting Altenar was more than a platform change. It provided an opportunity to strengthen its sportsbook proposition and bring the standards associated with its brand into the digital environment.

The growth recorded across turnover and GGR, together with the continued performance during 2026, reflects the development of this strategy and the role that scalable sportsbook technology can play in supporting an online betting operation in Peru’s competitive iGaming market.
