As regulatory changes accelerate across Latin America, betting and gaming operators are facing an increasingly demanding environment shaped by higher taxes, stricter compliance requirements, and growing pressure on how markets develop and compete.
Against this backdrop, on Wednesday, 10 June 2026, Stage Five at SBC Summit Americas will host the Latin America Regulation & Compliance track, bringing together leading operators, regulators, and legal experts to address the most pressing issues shaping the region’s betting ecosystem.
Delegates can expect expert insights into tax increases affecting operators in Brazil and Colombia, Chile’s ongoing journey toward regulation, how Argentina can build a safe and sustainable market, and the key drivers behind iGaming growth in Mexico.
“Latin America’s regulatory landscape is evolving rapidly, and operators need to understand not just the rules, but the reasoning behind them,” said Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and Founder of SBC. “This track brings together the voices shaping these frameworks to help stakeholders navigate complexity and identify where opportunity and compliance intersect.”
The track will open with Don’t kill the little guy: The implications of Brazil GGR rise, a session focused on Brazil’s imminent tax increase. Angelo Alberoni (Partner & COO, A2FBR), William Bonalume (COO, Open Gaming), Frederico Caputti (Managing Director, Brazil Office, Altenar), Iuri R. Castro (Project and Process Management Lead, Caixa), and Marcos Sabiá (CEO, Galerabet) will discuss whether rising operating costs could force local companies to sell to better-funded international competitors, and whether the new framework truly supports a healthy and diverse Brazilian market.
Another key session, IVAmos bien! The implications of Colombia’s emergency tax, will explore the impact of the newly introduced 19% VAT on online gambling deposits. Evert Montero Cardenas (President, Fecoljuegos) and Iliana Pineda (Chief Compliance Officer, Wplay) will examine industry concerns around declining operator revenues and the risk of players turning to the black market.
The panel Navigating the PR Labyrinth: Managing Publicity in Argentina’s iGaming Market will focus on how to build a sustainable market in Argentina amid increasing public scrutiny. Agustín Li Gambi (Director General de Asuntos Jurídicos, Instituto Provincial de Juegos de Azar de Neuquén), Ezequiel Alejandro Domínguez (Director, LOTBA), and Santiago Gandara (CMO, BetWarrior) will discuss potential government proposals to restrict advertising and how the industry can build long-term trust while ensuring a sustainable future.
Additional sessions include Is Chile on the Cusp, examining Chile’s potential as a regulated market, and Unlocking Growth in Mexican iGaming: Strategies for Revenue and Player Acquisition, which will explore the regulatory, commercial, and player-driven factors fueling growth in Mexico.
SBC Summit Americas will take place from 9–11 June at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, welcoming 10,000 delegates focused on the Latin American and US betting and gaming markets.
