In a pioneering initiative among Brazil’s betting houses, Betsul, through its Jogo do Bem campaign, has already donated over 2.7 million reais to institutions helping people in situations of social vulnerability, through actions linked to sports. In this initiative, with every bet placed on the website – www.betsul.com/ – a predetermined percentage is donated to causes and organizations registered in the program, at no additional cost to the bettors.
Among the projects benefiting from this initiative is the Disabled Sports Association (ADD), a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by physical education teacher Steven Dubner. ADD organizes wheelchair basketball, swimming, boccia, sitting volleyball, and athletics.
Eliane Miada, director and co-founder of the project, explains that the association is about to celebrate its fourth year and has been made possible thanks to one of the great names in national sports. “Our relationship with Betsul began in 2019, through the mediation of the legend Oscar Schmidt, who led the first Jogo do Bem campaign and nominated ADD to be the beneficiary association of the donations. Since then, these funds have been extremely important for us to carry out our sports programs with those who trust in sports as a means of daily transformation. Thanks to the donations, we have been able to buy sports equipment, pay for trips to participate in competitions, and maintain the sustainability of our administration,” says Eliane.
In addition to ADD, another project benefiting from Betsul is the Meninos de Deus Institute. Located in Fortaleza, the group, created by educator Paulo Uchôa, aims to spread a culture of peace among vulnerable children, adolescents, and young people. The project promotes the practice of sports activities, as well as thematic discussions with families.
Erica Lemos, president of the Institute, states that the partnership with Betsul was essential to expand activities and help more families. “The partnership with Betsul was and is of utmost importance to us because the Meninos de Deus Institute has existed for 15 years, but only through the partnership were we able to formalize ourselves as a Civil Society Organization (OSC) in 2022. With this partnership, we also made it possible to pay two educators, in addition to providing snacks, uniforms, and free time to the children and adolescents we now serve, more than double the number we used to,” explains Erica.
Through alliances like this one, Betsul, a betting house created to serve the most discerning bettors and fans in South America, hopes to further enhance the experience of its customers, providing not only fun and security but also the opportunity to positively impact the lives of thousands of children and families throughout Brazil, as stated by Fernando Garita, CEO of Betsul: “Seeing the initiative take shape and enabling visits to stadiums, participation in competitions, school support, and dialogues with children and their families is extremely gratifying. We are committed to continuing to expand our positive impact and improving the experience of our customers, transforming Betsul not only into a place to bet but also into a socially relevant agent of transformation.”
