Brazil Takes a Confident Step Into a New Era of iGaming

Brazil is entering a decisive moment for its gaming and lottery industries. With an evolving regulatory framework and a rapidly expanding market, the country is preparing to host two of the most influential industry gatherings: CGS Rio and the Lotteries Regulators Forum (LRF), both organized by CGS Events.

These conferences will take place on March 2 and 3, 2026, at the Windsor Barra Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, officially opening Brazil’s Gaming Week. The events will bring together business leaders, regulatory authorities, mayors, operators, and representatives from key iGaming and lottery brands to discuss the sector’s trajectory and shape new opportunities.

A Market Expanding With Stronger Regulatory Foundations

Brazil has positioned itself as one of the world’s most significant markets, ranking as the third-largest global consumer of online gaming and betting. Following the regulatory developments introduced in early 2025, platforms reported a 90% increase in traffic, exceeding 5 billion visits—a clear indication of the growing shift toward licensed operators and a more structured ecosystem.

The implementation of the SPA/MF, stricter transparency requirements, anti–money laundering controls, gross gaming revenue taxation, and the issuance of legal licenses have contributed to a safer and more reliable market environment. Additionally, since August 2025, the State of Rio de Janeiro has authorized the operation of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), further expanding the industry’s scope.

As 2026 approaches, Brazil stands at a pivotal point where regulation, innovation, and growth converge, reinforcing the country’s position as one of the most dynamic epicenters in the global iGaming industry.
