Altenar, the leading sportsbook provider, has expanded its commercial team with the appointment of Jacob Portelli as Sales Manager, reinforcing its strategic focus on growth across Asian and African markets. The announcement was made on 11th December 2025.
Portelli brings five years of experience in the iGaming industry. Prior to joining Altenar, he served as Business Development Manager at Celestar Malta and previously held business development and customer success roles at OKTO, WizPro Consulting Ltd, and GA Tech, providing payment solutions to operators, aggregators, and platforms across Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
In his new position, Portelli will focus on strengthening Altenar’s presence across Asia and Africa by fostering long-term partnerships and delivering tailored solutions that provide measurable value to operators in these high-growth regions.
His appointment comes during a period of strong momentum for Altenar, particularly in Africa. Over the past year, the company obtained its South African licence in December 2024 and later appointed Brendon Jeacocks as Regional Director for the market in July.
Portelli’s addition underscores Altenar’s commitment to investing in experienced professionals who understand the commercial drivers of modern sports betting in emerging markets.
