iugu joins IBIA’s Payment Forum and reinforces its commitment to integrity in the sports betting market

The Brazilian company becomes a member of the Payment Provider Forum and expands its operations in the regulated betting sector

iugu, a Brazilian technology company specializing in financial infrastructure, has announced its membership in the Payment Provider Forum, an initiative led by the International Betting Integrity Association (IBIA), the global organization promoting integrity and transparency in the sports betting industry.

The Forum was created to protect the betting market from financial fraud related to competition manipulation. Within this framework, payment service providers commit—through a Declaration of Commitment and Participation—to adopt best practices in integrity, transparency, and monitoring.

Joining the Forum marks a significant milestone for iugu, reinforcing its dedication to governance and compliance, while consolidating its position as a trusted partner in a sector that continues to gain importance both in Brazil and globally.

“Our membership in the IBIA Payment Provider Forum strengthens our commitment to the highest international standards. We are excited to actively contribute to the sector’s growth in Brazil and worldwide, working alongside leaders who share our focus on security and the advancement of regulated sports betting,” stated Ricardo Dostaole, Head of Bets at iugu.

This moment is pivotal for the industry, especially following the government’s disclosure of significant betting activity, which heightens the responsibility of payment providers within the ecosystem. According to data from the Secretariat for Prizes and Betting (SPA) of the Ministry of Finance, 17.7 million Brazilians placed bets on websites and apps during the first half of 2025. These numbers highlight the strength of the industry and emphasize the importance of international governance initiatives—such as those led by IBIA—that enhance the credibility, transparency, and security of the entire ecosystem.

This partnership also positions iugu to play an active role in shaping the global iGaming agenda. Together with other national and international stakeholders, the company is committed to fostering a sustainable market built on transparency, clear regulation, and innovation. Forum membership also includes the use of the newly designed IBIA Payment Provider Forum kitemark.

“We are pleased to welcome iugu as a new member of the Payment Provider Forum. The involvement of responsible and committed payment providers is essential to supporting integrity and sustainable growth in the regulated sports betting market, particularly in emerging regions such as Brazil,” said Khalid Ali, CEO of IBIA.
