Clarion Gaming Invites Applications for Sustainable Gambling Charity Partnership

Clarion Gaming has officially opened applications for its next Sustainable Gambling Charity Partner, inviting organisations from around the world to nominate themselves for the partnership that will run across its 2025 and 2026 live events. Applications can be submitted via https://www.icegaming.com/features/sustainable-gambling-zone.

The chosen organisation will play a key role in shaping the global conversation around responsible gambling at ICE Barcelona, iGB Affiliate Barcelona, and iGB L!VE London, gaining an international platform to promote its programmes and raise awareness of safer gambling initiatives across the gaming ecosystem.

Now entering its fourth year, Clarion Gaming’s initiative remains a cornerstone of its commitment to responsible and sustainable gambling. The programme builds on the success of the Sustainable Gambling Zone – formerly known as the Consumer Protection Zone – which debuted at ICE 2018 and has since become a must-visit feature for operators, regulators, and safer gambling advocates.

Margaret Dunn, Portfolio Director for ICE Barcelona and the executive leading Clarion Gaming’s sustainable gambling outreach, highlighted that the partnership represents a unique opportunity for a non-profit organisation to connect with an unprecedented number of industry decision-makers.

“Clarion Gaming was the first event organiser in the gambling industry to establish an annual charity partnership, and this initiative is central to our mission to help build a sustainable and socially responsible sector,” said Dunn.

“The selected charity will gain a global platform to raise awareness, generate funds, and engage with the industry at an international level.”

The successful partner will become an ICE Ambassador, benefiting from prominent branding across all three flagship events, including coverage in official show guides, event apps, and websites, as well as visibility in the ICE Show Daily and access to VIP networking events.

Clarion Gaming will also enhance the charity’s visibility through global B2B media exposure and pre-show promotional campaigns, ensuring extended reach beyond the exhibition floor.

Pedro Romero, Chief of SG Partnerships at BetBlocker, the current Sustainable Gambling Charity Partner, reflected on the impact of the initiative:

“Being named Clarion Gaming’s Sustainable Gambling Charity has been an important milestone for BetBlocker. This recognition has significantly raised our international profile, opening doors to new collaborations and funding opportunities, and amplifying our mission to provide free and anonymous gambling-blocking software worldwide.”

Romero added that the partnership has helped expand BetBlocker’s global reach, enabling closer connections with regulators, operators, and researchers across multiple jurisdictions.

“It has strengthened our position as a trusted, innovative charity committed to reducing gambling-related harm. Beyond visibility, this collaboration has united efforts toward a more responsible and sustainable gambling environment.”

Interested organisations are invited to outline how they plan to use the partnership to address key sustainable gambling challenges, along with details about their mission, vision, and impact objectives.

Previous Sustainable Gambling Charity Partners have included YGAM and the International Center for Responsible Gaming.
