From India to the Philippines: SBC Summit 2025 Explores the Future of Asian Gaming

SBC Summit 2025 will give delegates an in-depth look at the latest trends shaping sports betting and iGaming across Asia, through its brand-new Emerging Markets conference track.

On Thursday, 18 September 2025, at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL), leading industry voices from across Asia will take the stage to discuss a market valued at more than $18.3 billion last year. Topics will include navigating compliance across the continent’s diverse jurisdictions, whether India is moving toward a regulated market, and if the Asia-Pacific region could represent the next major opportunity for international operators.

The Asia-focused track will mark the conclusion of three days of action on the Emerging Markets Stage. Day one will explore opportunities in Africa, while day two will focus on Eurasia and the Middle East.

Rasmus Sojmark, CEO and founder of SBC, said:

“If you’re building a global gaming business, you simply can’t afford to overlook Asia. This track highlights why the region should sit at the heart of every long-term growth strategy. Asia needs a platform where regulators, operators, suppliers, and investors can have open conversations — and SBC is proud to provide that space. The Emerging Markets Stage is the centerpiece of that effort.”

The agenda will open with the panel Asia: Navigating Regulation, Opportunity and Uncertainty, which will take a deep dive into the region’s regulatory landscape. Industry experts including Rory Anderson (12BET), Paul Fox (Claymore Solutions), Lau Kok Keng (Rajah & Tan Singapore), Yuta Romanchenko (Big Idea), and moderator Rosalind Wade (WinnaMedia) will examine the contrasts between markets — from the growth of alternative betting in India to Macau’s established land-based sector — while also identifying the countries most ready for investment.

The session India’s Regulatory Roadmap: The Next Decade for Gaming will spotlight the country’s complex, state-by-state legal framework and the divide between games of skill and games of chance. With speakers Ranjana Adhikari, Anton Kaszubowski, and Japneet Singh Sethi, the panel will assess whether the country is moving toward meaningful regulation or if the grey market will continue to dominate.

The panel Philippines: Life after POGOs will bring together Dominique Laconico, Keith McDonnell, Joe Pisano, and Marie Antonette “Tonet” Quiogue to discuss the country’s transition from offshore operators (POGOs) to the newly introduced PIGOs. The conversation will consider whether this makes the Philippines Asia’s first truly regulated market, the continuing role of PAGCOR, the impact on overseas operations previously served by POGOs, and what lessons other jurisdictions can learn from this model.

The SBC Summit 2025 agenda will also feature the Global Markets Stage, offering insights into the world’s most profitable sports betting and iGaming regions. Across three days, delegates will gain actionable strategies for market entry and expansion in Latin America & Brazil, Western Europe, and North America.

Tickets for SBC Summit 2025 are now available, with three pass options: VIP Event Pass, Expo+ Pass, and Expo Only Pass (note: the Expo Only Pass does not include conference access).
