Thousands of professionals from across North, Central, and South America gathered last week in Fort Lauderdale from May 13–15 for SBC Summit Americas 2025 —a landmark event designed to encourage cross-border exchange and enable rare, synchronized dialogue between industry leaders from all corners of the continent.
The concept was introduced last year, as organizer SBC decided to combine the well-established SBC Summit North America and SBC Summit Latinoamérica into a single event — a strategic move to accommodate growing attendance and provide a unified forum for the entire Americas region.
Lee Terfloth, Chief Interactive Officer – Gaming at Delaware North, praised the event’s growth and strategic direction: “It’s a much better venue, and it’s gotten a lot bigger. It’s a natural progression to combine these two; We have so much to learn from each other.
“The location is also great because we are surrounded by hotels, all of the events are within walking or short Uber distance, and so that’s great,” he added.
Held from 13–15 May at the Broward County Convention Center, the new-look SBC Summit Americas featured a dynamic show floor packed with hundreds of exhibitors, including dedicated zones for the Affiliate Leaders Summit and Payment Expert Summit, each tailored to their respective communities.
Tony Amormino, CEO at Apache Nugget Corporation, reflected on the value of the 22,000-square-meter expo floor, noting the broad scope of networking opportunities: “There are a lot of vendors that I wouldn’t normally be able to see” and “pretty much all my afternoon was spent with people that there would have been no shot of me talking to previously.”
Iliana Pineda, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Wplay — a leading Colombian operator and exhibitor at the event — commented on the impressive scale of the event: “The size is really impressive for just one region like the Americas.” She added that “bringing all these markets together was truly a winning strategy.”
Beyond the main exhibition and conference, SBC Summit Americas 2025 featured a packed schedule of standout moments — including the exclusive SBC Leaders Summit for over 300 C-level executives at Pier Sixty-Six Hotel, the prestigious SBC Hall of Fame ceremony honoring industry icons across the continent, and the thrilling SBC First Pitch Americas startup competition, where Wager Games took home the title.
Cristian Gomez, Managing Director of Emerging Markets at Betsson — a gold headline sponsor of the event — highlighted the event’s unique value for companies operating across borders: “Here, you can have discussions which are important for someone like me, who serves more than one country. Usually, you see the same people at all the events, but this one brings together both markets, so I got to meet new people and have new conversations.”
The summit also hosted the SBC Awards Americas, celebrating top performers from North and South America, and introduced new elements such as a Food Festival—first seen at the Lisbon event—and the epic INFINITY Florida closing party, headlined by Steve Aoki at DAER Nightclub in the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
The conference program offered a rich and diverse agenda across five themed conference rooms, each designed to deliver tailored content to core industry verticals. Topics spanned leadership and strategy, North American and Latin American market trends, affiliation, payments, player safety, compliance, and responsible gambling.
In total, over 250 industry experts took the stage, including keynote speakers such as Lori Kalani (Chief Responsible Gaming Officer, DraftKings), Julie Brown (Vice Chairman, Florida Gaming Control Commission), Fellipe Fraga (Chief Business Officer, EstrelaBet), Gonzalo Perez (CEO, Apuesta Total), Ari Borod (Chief Business Officer, Fanatics Betting and Gaming), and Casey Hurbis (CMO, BetMGM) — each offering critical perspectives on the evolving gaming landscape across the Americas.
Rodrigo Cigliutti, Executive Director at Ibero-american State Lottery and Betting Corporation CIBELAE, shared how the event’s content exceeded expectations and fostered unexpected collaboration: “I was on a panel about regulation and advertising — it was great to see SBC prioritise these critical issues.”
After participating in a Latin America session and roundtable, Cigliutti noted, “we ended up forming a strong group of Latin Americans and stayed debating for a long time.” He also commended the inclusion of a session on certification, “featuring four major lotteries from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Costa Rica. What we discussed was incredibly enriching.”
The event won strong approval from attendees who commended its regional inclusivity, its facilitation of cross-border knowledge-sharing, and its success in assembling key decision-makers from across the hemisphere.
One participant called it “the most organized event I’ve been to in a long time”, while another described it as their “new favorite event” thanks to the “great people, great location, and fantastic energy.” Delegates highlighted the opportunity to engage with both familiar faces and new industry contacts, with one testimonial noting that this was “an outstanding event that struck the right balance between content and community.” For many, SBC Summit Americas established itself as a “must-attend gathering for anyone looking to stay at the forefront of the betting and gaming market in the Americas.”
SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark commented: “‘Connecting Worlds’ through gaming was the idea behind SBC Summit Americas — a vision that’s also reflected in the event’s tagline. Seeing everyone come together in Fort Lauderdale for this edition is not only a proud moment for our team, but also a clear signal that the industry is ready for deeper, cross-regional collaboration.”
SBC Summit Americas will return to Fort Lauderdale next year, taking place at the Broward County Convention Center from 8–10 June 2026. Following a record-breaking edition in 2025, sponsors and exhibitors are now invited to secure their space early by submitting a request viathis page.
