December 7, 2023

SIS, a leading provider of international racing content, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the $100,000 Copa Confraternidad del Caribe, a pivotal Grade 1 race at the prestigious Clásico Internacional del Caribe race day. This annual event, showcasing the finest thoroughbreds from across the Caribbean nations, will unfold on December 10th at the historic Hipódromo Presidente Remón in Panama City, Panama.

The Clásico Internacional del Caribe draws top-tier horses from Panama, Venezuela, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. The athletes will fiercely compete for a staggering $800,000 in purses across six Grade 1 races, including the highly anticipated Copa Confraternidad del Caribe—a compelling contest for 3-year-olds and upward covering a challenging 1 ¼ miles on the dirt.

This year marks Panama’s hosting of the Clásico day for the first time since 2015, at the renowned Hipódromo Presidente Remón, founded in 1956. The racecourse, steeped in history, is home to the esteemed Laffit Pincay Jr. Technical Jockey Training Academy, often hailed as the “cradle of the best jockeys in the world.”

Distinguished jockeys such as Irad Ortiz, Luis Sáez, Ricardo Santana, Paco Lopez, and Javier Castellano, boasting a combined purse earnings exceeding $100 million this year, will participate in the event. The legendary Laffit Pincay Jr. will grace the occasion as an honorary guest.

SIS, a global leader in providing over 35,000 live horse racing events annually, is committed to delivering an end-to-end solution. This includes round-the-clock betting events featuring live-streamed pictures, data, on-screen graphics, betting triggers, and an extensive range of markets and prices.

Michele Fischer, Vice President at SIS Content Services, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “The Clásico del Caribe day is one of the biggest events on the Caribbean calendar, and its return to Panama this year promises to create an electric atmosphere. We are pleased to enhance our commitment to global racing by supporting this multinational race day.”

Carlos Alberto de Oliveira, Jr., COO at Hipódromo Presidente Remón Racecourse, conveyed his appreciation for SIS’s ongoing support, saying, “It is an honor to have the ongoing support of SIS, our valuable partner, playing a key role in one of the most significant days in the Caribbean racing calendar. We deeply appreciate your support, which not only extends our horse racing to over 50 countries but also opens the door to future expansions.”
