SBC Summit Europe Sets Amsterdam Debut Around Regulated Markets

Taking place from 19–21 April 2027 at RAI Amsterdam, the event will bring together operators, regulators, policymakers and suppliers connected to Europe’s regulated gambling ecosystem.

Amsterdam as a new meeting point

SBC Summit Europe is preparing for its first edition in Amsterdam, bringing together businesses, regulators and policymakers involved in the future of regulated gambling across Europe. The event will take place from 19–21 April 2027 at RAI Amsterdam.

SBC is targeting more than 3,000 operator representatives active in regulated European markets, alongside an initiative designed to increase participation from national and international regulatory authorities.

The objective is to create a meeting point for the stakeholders operating, overseeing and developing regulated markets at a time of significant regulatory and commercial change across the continent.

Regulation and diverse European markets

The programme will reflect one of the defining characteristics of Europe’s gambling industry: the continent does not operate as a single regulatory market, but rather as a collection of jurisdictions with different approaches to taxation, advertising, player protection, consumer behaviour, artificial intelligence and technology.

Against this backdrop, the agenda will examine channelisation, taxation, advertising restrictions, player protection, affordability, black-market competition, licensing, compliance and emerging technologies.

Dedicated market-focused sessions will also provide deeper insight into individual European jurisdictions, including recently regulated and evolving markets.

Strengthening operator-regulator dialogue

One of the main objectives of SBC Summit Europe will be to create more direct dialogue between operators and the authorities responsible for regulating their markets.

SBC is working with organisations including IAGR (International Association of Gaming Regulators) and IMGL (International Masters of Gaming Law), while also developing relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations to encourage gaming authorities from across Europe to participate.

SBC CEO & Founder Rasmus Sojmark highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for different markets to share experiences and examine how regulatory approaches are developing across Europe.

The programme will also explore questions around player protection, the competitiveness of regulated markets and how operators and regulators can work together to keep consumers within licensed channels.

Technology and the next stage of European gaming

The event will also examine the commercial and technological forces shaping the next generation of regulated European gaming.

Topics will include compliance technology, payment systems, sports betting platforms, data, casino, marketing and changing player behaviour.

These discussions will be supported by an exhibition featuring technology and service providers serving licensed operators, alongside a three-day networking programme connecting operators, regulators, policymakers, suppliers, affiliates and industry associations.

A new annual gathering for regulated gaming

SBC Managing Director Andrew McCarron said the organisation aims to establish Amsterdam as an annual meeting point for Europe’s regulated gambling industry, with regulated markets at the centre of the event and regulators actively involved in the industry conversation.

SBC Summit Europe will take place from 19–21 April 2027 at RAI Amsterdam. Operators, regulators, suppliers and qualifying affiliates will be able to apply for complimentary passes.
