The fifth edition of the 2027 iGaming Trends Report will feature insights from more than 500 experts and, for the first time, expand its analysis beyond iGaming to other digital industries.
SOFTSWISS is preparing to launch the fifth edition of its 2027 iGaming Trends Report, produced in partnership with WorldGaming (ex Clarion) and featuring insights from more than 500 industry professionals.
The report will be officially presented on 29 September at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026, offering a broader perspective on the evolution and growing maturity of the iGaming sector. For the first time, the publication expands its scope beyond iGaming to provide a cross-industry perspective, including contributions from companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
According to SOFTSWISS, over the past five years iGaming has developed into the fourth-largest sector in terms of market size, growth, regulatory load and digital maturity, behind only e-commerce, sports and film.
Against this backdrop, the new edition examines some of the key questions facing the industry, including how regulated gaming can become an economic driver, whether responsible gambling and commercial performance can work together, and how licensing and responsible gambling practices can create competitive advantages and generate tangible business returns.
Research-Backed Data and a Broader Industry Perspective
The report draws on survey responses from more than 500 industry professionals, alongside an analysis of over 480,000 media headlines to track shifts in industry narratives and sentiment.
A key addition to this edition is the new “Beyond iGaming” chapter, which benchmarks iGaming against sectors including e-commerce, crypto and streaming. The report also features market case studies covering operator growth, market expansion and performance.
Alexandra Kavelich, Deputy CMO at SOFTSWISS, said the industry’s development prompted the company to broaden the scope of its research.
“The industry’s maturation has brought both increased complexity and cross-sector influence, which prompted us to broaden analytical scope to reflect the new reality.”
According to SOFTSWISS, the 2027 edition has nearly doubled the number of professionals surveyed and media headlines analysed compared with previous editions.
Since its launch in 2022, the iGaming Trends Report has generated more than 32,000 downloads, becoming a recognised reference point for industry analysis.
The latest edition will include:
- Regional market analysis and trend outlook from WorldGaming (ex Clarion).
- Insights from Amazon Web Services (AWS) on AI adoption across compliance, fraud detection, personalisation and customer support.
- Exclusive market sizing and forecasting data from H2 Gambling Capital.
- Workforce intelligence from Pentasia covering hiring trends, retention and talent gaps.
Robin Harrison, Global Content Director B2B at WorldGaming (ex Clarion), highlighted the importance of combining a global perspective with an understanding of individual markets.
