SBC Summit’s AI Academy to Deliver Hands-On Learning on AI Agents, Deepfake Threats and Human-AI Collaboration

The new Education+ initiative will combine live demonstrations, interactive workshops and expert-led case studies to help delegates apply artificial intelligence in real business environments while addressing emerging cybersecurity challenges.

SBC Summit has unveiled its new AI Academy, a premium Education+ initiative designed to move beyond AI theory and provide delegates with practical skills they can immediately apply within their organizations.

The academy will offer an immersive learning experience focused on real-world applications of artificial intelligence, helping attendees understand where AI delivers genuine business value, identify emerging risks such as deepfake fraud, and even build their own AI assistant during the event.

Taking place on 29 September at Sala Tejo, MEO Arena, the AI Academy will bring together leading experts in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and technology through live demonstrations, interactive workshops, case studies and ask-me-anything sessions covering the latest AI developments impacting the gaming industry.

Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, explained the philosophy behind the initiative:

“The biggest mistake businesses can make with AI is treating it like a shortcut. The organizations achieving the greatest success are those that understand its strengths, recognize its limitations, and know where human expertise continues to matter.

That’s exactly the thinking behind this academy. Rather than simply discussing AI’s potential, we’re giving delegates the opportunity to test it, challenge it, experiment with it, and leave with practical skills they can immediately put into practice.”

A practical journey through the future of AI

The programme will begin with “Data and AI: Limits and Lessons,” where Behshad Behzadi, Chief Technology Officer at Sportradar, will demonstrate how artificial intelligence is being used to analyze player behaviour and enrich sports data while openly discussing both its capabilities and current limitations.

Attention will then shift to AI agents during the session “When Agents Speak for You & The Future of Interaction,” where Javier Troncoso, CEO & Co-Founder of Insightplay.ai, and Jeffrey Haas, Managing Director of ID8 Global Gaming Business Accelerator, will showcase how AI-powered voice agents are evolving from digital assistants into autonomous representatives capable of transforming customer interaction and decision-making.

The academy will also explore AI’s transition into the physical world through “AI Wearables, Robotics & Human Augmentation,” presented by John Caldwell, Co-Founder of i3Soft, featuring demonstrations of smart glasses, neurotechnology, exoskeletons and biometric wearables.

Cybersecurity will take centre stage during the case study “Trust Test: Deepfakes, AI Fraud and the New Era of Impersonation,” where experts from SQR, Entain, Betsson, and AI Collective will examine how AI-generated identities, voice cloning and deepfake technology are being exploited for fraud and how businesses can effectively defend against these emerging threats.

The academy will conclude with the interactive workshop “Build Your Own AI Assistant,” led by Mayank Pachauri, Founder and CEO of FalconDive, where participants will create a practical AI assistant tailored for marketing, CRM or analytics, ready to be implemented immediately after the event.

AI will play a central role across SBC Summit 2026

Beyond the AI Academy, artificial intelligence will feature prominently throughout SBC Summit’s broader conference agenda, with dedicated sessions on the Technology & Innovation and Payment Expert Summit stages exploring AI’s growing impact on game development, automation, responsible gambling and marketing strategies.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to discover cutting-edge AI solutions through the Smart Connect networking programme and the AI in Gaming Show Floor Tour, showcasing some of the industry’s most innovative technology providers.

SBC Summit will take place from 29 September to 1 October 2026 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa and MEO Arena, bringing together more than 40,000 industry professionals for three days of networking, exhibitions and conference sessions.
